Tom runs stone carving classes throughout the year at Glasgow Sculpture Studios.  The classes are in blocks of 6 weeks, 2 hours per week, Tuesdays or Saturdays.

Students work outdoors in the stone carving area, when weather permits, otherwise indoors.
 

In the Beginners classes, students are introduced to the elements of making a sculpture, starting from sources of ideas, through making a maquette, choosing the block of stone, and then starting the process of carving.

Several students have progressed through three or four series of lessons, and are now ready to work independently on their own projects.  The fee for the class includes membership of Glasgow Sculpture Studios, to encourage this transition.
 
 

Exhibitions of Students' work are held regularly.
