Nils Hansen was born in Dusseldorf, Germany in 1978. He became a stonemason in 2000, winning many prizes. He has been specialising in sctone sculpture since 2002.
In 2005 he went to Carrara in Italy to work there and to continue his studies. Right now he is working in Dusseldorf and Carrara, and is planning an exhibition for the Jewish Community in Duisberg.
Nils Hansen's work offers a variety of styles. He started working in a figurative manner deriving from his strong interest for the human body. One basis of his work are his nude drawings which act as a key to understanding the new abstract forms which he has been producing in Italy. They show a strong feeling for movement and for organic forms which tend to turn and twist.
