My life is divided equally between teaching
(in adult education) and sculpting. I have carved stone for over
thirty years and like working on a monumental scale. I try to inject
an element of usefulness into my sculptures, most usually incorporating
seating of some sort.
There is also a playful aspect of my work
that operates on different levels, and I add carved lettering where it
is appropriate and integral to the design.
