I have been carving stone since 1982 and work mainly in Kilkenny Limestone. I work using grinders, air hammers and sanders but always finished each piece with hand carved detailing and sanding and polishing by hand.
I like to explore historic influences and the inspiration for many of my carvings comes from Ireland's rich Celtic heritage. Where possible I love to include lettering in my work, the texture, colour and shape of the stone and the meaning of the words all play their part in the design of the lettering.
